Music has been a part of Brent's life since he was a young boy. Raised by two musicians, Brent was trained classically on piano since the age of seven. At the age of fifteen, he became interested in studying singing and songwriting. Brent received a Bachelors Degree in vocal performance from Central Methodist University and then completed a Masters Degree in voice at Northwestern University. After school Brent tried his hand at many different genres of music from Opera to Musical Theater, Blues to Jazz. However, his passion from the beginning was songwriting. In 1996 Brent moved to Boston where he began teaching and performing commercial music. In the year 2000 he started his own musical project, the progressive/pop rock band, Slow Motion Driver. The band dispersed in 2010, but Brent continued writing, teaching and producing music. Currently Brent is one of the best-known contemporary voice teachers in the Boston Area. For the last twenty years he has trained hundreds of professional and aspiring singers from New England and around the World. Brent is also the Praise Band director at Old West United Methodist church in Boston, where he gets to play with some super talented musicians every Sunday morning, including Mr. Jon Lawson! He is super excited to have contributed vocally to the album The Calling and is praying it is well received. (Listen to this album!!)
